Donna Dodd Terrell, of Lexington, KY, graduated from University of Kentucky with her B.A. in Education and Journalism, and thereafter earned her J.D. from University of Kentucky School of Law. She became Law Clerk to Chief Justice Robert F. Stephens at the Supreme Court of Kentucky, and served as Chief Counsel to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky. For seventeen years, she served the federal court system as one of only nine individuals appointed nationwide to handle Pro Se civil rights litigation, writs of habeas corpus, and death penalty litigation.
In private practice, she managed many high-profile real estate and farm transactions and has been prominent in Keeneland and the field of racing. She is the proud mother of Daniel V. “Wick” Terrell IV. She has been a lifelong, avid student of Kentucky history with deep family roots in Madison County, Kentucky, where Cassius Clay lived.
